Josh Blakeis a Grammy nominated musician, producer, and engineer with over 30 years of experience. To understand him as a musician, you first need to understand that there’s a reason why publications like Jam Base and Live For Live Music don’t hesitate to call Josh Blake the “Musical Mayor of Asheville N.C.” – it’s because his influence and connections to the musicians living, working, and traveling through the area are unparalleled. Josh has played on stage with folks like Warren Haynes, Oteil Burbridge, John Medeski, Eric Krasno, Marcus King, members of Ween, and so many more. His reputation is further elevated through the work he has done in the studio with folks like Billy Strings, Leftover Salmon, Lettuce, The Motet, and hundreds of other musicians and bands. His reputation has been built partially off of the following:
10 years of touring with live hip hop act GFE aka Granola Funk Express
18 years hosting Asheville’s legendary Tuesday Night Funk Jam
12 years a producer and founder of iamavl.com- 6 seasons as producer and engineer of the PBS series Echo Sessions
