It’s about time Kayla gets a proper introduction!🍻🍻🍻
If you’ve been to the taproom, chances are you’ve seen Kayla behind the bar, catching live music, and chatting with regulars, which just happens to be one of her favorite parts of the job.
Kayla’s favorite day to work is Wednesdays. She loves when @saylorbrothers mix in bluegrass covers of her favorite songs.
Outside of work, Kayla loves all things growing… houseplants, gardening, mycology, and even brewing her own kombucha and teas. Her Go-to French Broad beer is the Black IPA.
She’s originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, but has called Asheville home since she was 9 years old! What she loves about Asheville is how strong the community is, especially after the way we all came together after Helene. Some of Kayla’s other favorite local spots are BB Barns, Habitat Restore, Lotus gardening shop, Sweeten Creek antiques, the antique tobacco barn, the bins at goodwill, and Battle cat coffee. Some of her fave outdoor spots are Frying Pan Tower and anywhere in DuPont.
Kayla has an 11 year old, one-eyed black cat, named Reggie (slide to see a pic🐈⬛).
A Fun fact about her is that her first job was at F.Y.E., the old CD store in the mall. Before joining French Broad, she worked at Salvage Station, so it’s safe to say music has always been a huge part of her life. She has lived, worked, and played all my time along the rivers in Asheville for the last 10 years so keeping them healthy and clean is really important to her💙💚💛
Kayla fits in perfect here and we’re so lucky to have Kayla on the French Broad team! 🍻

We’re SO excited to have @andrewscotchie performing in the brewery again! It’s seriously awesome to b able to host this friend and local legend🌟🍻
Born and raised in Asheville, Andrew Scotchie is everything rock-n-roll was meant to be: sweaty, soul-stirring, a little dangerous, and absolutely alive. With the fire of the Stones, the blues of Lightnin’ Hopkins, and the message of a punk-fueled preacher, Scotchie and his band, The River Rats, have become a staple of the Southeast music scene. He’s shared stages with legends, crowd-surfed dive bars, and continues to craft his unique sound. His latest record, Love Is Enough, is a love letter to connection, chaos, and keeping your heart open in a world gone sideways.
Through consistent heartfelt releases, year round touring and active charity work, Asheville N.C. native Andrew Scotchie is a celebrated creative force. His unique brand of rock n roll, blues and Americana has an unmatched sense of urgency and unifying social commentary.
You absolutely do not want to miss this show! Cheers🎸

@cloudsofdelusionofficial is playing TONIGHT at French Broad River Brewery⚡️🎸🎶💙 No cover! All ages welcome. Come out and support some local Asheville musicians!
It’s been exactly 2 weeks since @thisisboombox took over the French Broad outdoor stage. Wow, what an awesome night this was. The music, the crowd, the vendors, the energy! It was just great. Thanks to Boombox, @ashevillemusichall_onestop, and everyone who came out!
We’re looking forward to many more outdoor shows✨🎶🎸🥁🍻
We are so sorry for the inconvenience tonight, but we are closed. Please check our story for updates in the coming days on if we’ll be open or not!
Please help spread the word. We’re so sorry for this again. Thank you all for understanding.
Thank You Thursday✨
This one goes out to Tim, Bentley, and Skarekrow for the time, energy, and creativity they put into designing and building our new stage.
One of the things we love most about this community is how connected it is… how people overlap in so many ways and how so many are genuinely invested in what happens here in the taproom.
Tim (of Jerry’s Dead and Chalwa) is an old friend of Aaron’s, and Jerry’s Dead has been playing here every Thursday for years. He’s often around the brewery on other nights too, either hanging out or performing with his other bands. Tim’s energy and music lights up our stage and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Bentley is our good friend and our official sound engineer/stage manager who’s constantly going above and beyond, doing anything from decorating the stage to making sure every show sounds its best. He does so much for this place and we’re grateful to have him.
Skarekrow is a longtime friend with an incredible musical background, and we’re lucky he’s brought that talent and passion into our space.
It’s a pretty special thing for some of the people who make music possible at French Broad to have taken such ownership over our little old stage, so much to the point that they were passionate about rebuilding it bigger and better than it was before. The outcome is truly impressive ✨🍻 We’re so thankful to have these people, and all of you, in our corner.
What do yall think of the new stage?! If you’ve been enjoying it, now you know who to thank! Come out for Jerry’s dead tonight! Cheers🍻
🚨Update: Jerry’s dead is cancelled and we are closed tonight 10/16!!!
We are CLOSED & Jam Grass Jam is cancelled today😞
Sorry y’all, we’re having some unexpected construction in the parking lot and had to shut it down for the day. Since we’ll all be missing out on tonight’s @saylorbrothers jam, here’s a video💛💚💙
See you all back in the taproom tomorrow! Cheers yall!
It’s been a long road, but French Broad River Pizza is officially open again🍕🍻✨
Today (Monday 10/13) we are open from 4-9PM for slices only! So if you’re coming by for @alex_bazemore & friends, be one of the first to get a slice!
Tuesday, 10/14, we’ll have our full new menu available.
🚨Please note that the pizza website, Google, and other online platforms are still in the process of being updated, so they may not have accurate info. Check back here tomorrow for a post with the full menu and directions on how you can order takeout. We will make a post when the website is accurate and online ordering is available again.
Words cannot describe how excited our team is to have our beloved pizza slices available again. Things are finally starting to feel whole again. Thank you to our local food truck partners who helped us get through this time. Thank you to everyone for your patience and encouragement during this process❤️
Cheers to pizza!!!🍕🍕🍕
The 2025 French Broad Brewery Scramble this weekend was a success⛳️🍻
It’s an incredible feeling to play at this historic golf course alongside our team members and friends, all while supporting the Friends of Asheville Muni Preservation Fund.
Friends of Asheville Muni is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving as a fundraising partner for Asheville’s Municipal Golf Course. Their mission is to support the restoration of the course and ongoing initiatives that preserve and celebrate Muni’s rich legacy as a place where golf remains accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone.
As Muni rebuilds its first nine holes following the storm damage, these efforts are more important than ever. We’ve always been proud sponsors of the course, and now, as their neighbor, we’re even more committed to helping them rebuild and thrive!
Comment and give us your best guess of who you think won🤣🍻⛳️
Just in time🍁🍂
Somehow, our AMAZING brewing team was able to get Cherry Stout brewed and back just in time for the fall season🍒
This specialty Stout is rich and smooth with an addition of 40lbs of sweet cherries for a bright pop of flavor.
It’s brewed with a blend of pale, chocolate and roasted malts and lightly hopped with Northern Brewer and Willamette hops, it offers chocolate flavors on the pallet and a fruity cherry aroma.
Come by for a pour🍻 We’ve got live music all weekend! Check our upcoming events highlight tab for the lineup. Cheers yall!
