We have a quick announcement to make! We realize we’ve been kind of going back and forth with our hours since reopening and that it may be confusing - so we just wanted to quickly say sorry about that and announce our official hours from here on out.
Until our pizza shop reopens (which it will🍕🙌🏼), our new hours are as follows:
• Mon-Fri 4pm-9pm
• Saturday 1pm-9pm
• Sunday 1pm-8pm
When we have ticketed events, public taproom hours will differ and be posted prior to the day of the event.
Our weekly events are:
• Tuesday Trivia: 7-9pm
• Wednesday Bluegrass 6:30-8:30pm
• Thursday Jerry’s Dead 6-9pm
• Sunday Reggae with Chalwa 3-6pm
We have something very exciting coming up for a Monday night residency that we’ll be announcing very soon so keep an eye out for that.
This has been an adjustment period and we really appreciate all of your patience and support over the past few weeks!
✨Please help us spread the word by sending this post to your friends so that people don’t show up when we’re closed and get upset! Come see us today from 4-9 for some cold beers and great company☀️

In honor of Jam>Grass>Jam tonight, here are some moments from last week, which was our FIRST Wednesday Bluegrass night back since rebuilding. It was a beautiful sight to see @saylorbrothers and friends back on stage and see our Wednesday regulars back in the taproom. The power in half of the taproom actually was out for the majority of the night… (we blame the new taproom growing pains haha), but we still all managed to have a great time.
Jam>Grass>Jam with @saylorbrothers happens every Wednesday from 6:30-9. Anyone & everyone is welcome to join us for beers and the show, which is of course free and open to the public🍻🎶🌱 Hope to see you all tonight!

✨Community Spotlight✨
Very very big thanks to @classic_cotton_co for donating these amazing works of art for our taproom💜💚
Mark is a local artist and a regular of ours, frequenting Thursday nights. His art combines his love of music, thrifting and sustainability by transforming discarded graphic t-shirts into fresh, thought-provoking pieces that celebrate the intersection of music, community, and design. We’re really excited to have some of his work in the taproom🍻Mark lost some of the art he had displayed at The Marquee, and was still generous enough to reach out and offer to donate these two awesome pieces to bring some artistic life back into the taproom. We’re still looking for a the perfect permanent spot, but we had to throw them up behind Gus during Jerry’s Dead last week!
If this work interests you, reach out to Mark! And please be sure to give him a follow to support a local artist! @classic_cotton_co He makes some really cool stuff and is a really cool guy. Thanks Mark!

First Trivia back was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out and to @robertsavltrivia for putting on a great show, as always. It was the perfect welcome back to Tuesdays and the trivia regulars we haven’t seen in ages💚
Tonight we welcome back Jam Grass Jam with @saylorbrothers at 6:30pm. Come on by and help us make it a great night!

As we share these moments from our opening weekend, our hearts overflow with gratitude—both for those who’ve supported us from day one and those who joined to celebrate our return. Those four days of smiles, hugs, laughter, dancing, reunions, happy dogs, and raised glasses brought enough joy to eclipse the seven months without them.
Getting back to normal feels wonderful, and while we’ve still got a few more rebuild updates & reopening moments to share, soon we’ll transition back to regular posts about beer, events, and as always, our community. As we move on, we feel the need to communicate that our appreciation for all of your support during this time will never fade - even as we talk about less.
Helene brought so much devastation, but the silver lining has been how it unified our team & strengthened our bond with our community. We’re grateful to have emerged on the other side stronger and more connected — not just to the friends who’ve always been there, but to the many new ones we’ve made along the way.
Please continue helping us thrive post-rebuild by joining us for weekly events, cold beers on sunny days, and if you’re not local - continuing to engage with us virtually until you can visit in person! Thank you all x1000. Much love💚💚

Time to bring back the ✨Community Spotlight✨ posts!
Pouring our first beer on opening day to one of our long time regulars couldn’t have been better aligned. Chris, his wife Meredith, and his mom are here at the brewery multiple times/week.
He’s not only one of our biggest supporters, but he’s also pillar of our community. During the months we were closed, Chris organized “French Broad Regulars Meetups” at other local breweries and got our regular crowd that usually comes out on Mondays & Fridays to meet up at other spots around town. This not only helped some of our people keep their routine of weekly hangouts while their place was gone, but it also helped support other local breweries during the slowest and hardest months in the initial aftermath of the hurricane.
They also helped the community in many other ways in the aftermath, even while dealing with their own hardships losing some of Meredith’s art in the flood at the Marquee. Chris and his family are part of what make our FB community the best!
Paul snagged this video of the imperfect first pour and a moment that meant a lot to us 💚 Thanks Chris, and thanks everyone who helped celebrate our reopening!

Wow… just wow. We are absolutely speechless after this weekend. We couldn’t imagine a reopening filled with more love, support, and happiness. If you were there, you felt the magic of this moment, as everyone formed a circle and celebrated being back in our favorite place, dancing and drinking with our favorite people. A majority of our team was moved to tears watching this! Nothing can do it justice, but this 2 minute video of pure joy definitely comes close to capturing the energy of the weekend.
It was a packed weekend: Thursday with @jerrysdeadofficial, Friday with @cuberowmusic, Saturday with @sunsquabi, and Sunday with @chalwaroots. We can’t thank each and every one of you enough - family, friends, regulars, musicians, peers in the industry, neighbors, vendors, partners, those who helped us rebuild, and new friends joining our community - to everyone who came out, thank you for helping us make this new taproom feel like home. This weekend meant the world to us 💚
We’re closed this week Monday-Friday to build our permanent stage, but we’ll be spending the week posting photos from this weekend because we have a ton 💚
Thank you again, y’all are the best!

You guys really came through with the photo submissions! We had SO many that they didn’t all fit on the cork board, but don’t worry - we’re planning to rotate the photos out next month so that everyone’s photos eventually get a moment to shine.
Last night, after the work was done, our team sat around with beers and looked at all of the photos. We genuinely enjoyed seeing all of the funny moments and smiling faces, and reminiscing on the memories.
In pure French Broad fashion, someone (we won’t say who) spilled a beer on a pile of photos 😂 they all survived but we definitely all had a good laugh.
Thank you again to everyone who sent in pics. Going through them was really special and got us even more excited for today! See you all at our reopening! Cheers🍻

The moment we have all been waiting for… we’re finally so happy to announce that
🎉French Broad River Brewery will be open tomorrow, Thursday April 17th from 1-9pm with a show from @jerrysdeadofficial from 6-9pm🎉
We’ll try not to get too sappy, but looking back on these past 7 months leading up to this day, we’re definitely feeling emotional. Everything changed on September 26th. We were of course, heart broken when we found our brewery underwater - but we knew how lucky we were that our team and their families were safe. During the initial aftermath, so many people reached out asking if a rebuild was in the cards and how they could help. At the time, we were focused on and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be able to connect with the community and share resources, so a lot of those questions remained unanswered for quite a while… but that was also because we didn’t actually know if a rebuild was in the cards for us.
After many ownership discussions, difficult financial decisions, team meetings, and searching for a reason, we (Paul’s wife Sarah) concluded that it was nonnegotiable - the reason to rebuild was right in front of us - our community & our team - the people who make a big old taproom actually feel like home, and the minute we decided to rebuild, we were committed. We believed in this small business and decided to make it happen no matter what it took or how many challenges we had to overcome (and there were a lot).
Words could never express how grateful we are, not only to finally reopen, but for the hard work and resilience of each person working on this project, for the outpour of love and encouragement we’ve received from the community, for the fact that we’ve been able to retain our same amazing staff and grow even more solid through this journey, and for all of the things we’ve learned, connections we’ve made, and new doors that have opened through this process. We hope our story may inspire other small businesses and our neighbors who are still chugging along. Don’t give up.
Cheers to new beginnings and F*** Hurricane Helene.

Calling all French Broad regulars, one-time guests, friends of the brewery, community members - anyone who has ever made memories in our taproom: help us fill this cork board with photos of memories made and the people who made rebuilding worth it💚
We’ll be hanging it up in the taproom not only to welcome everyone back, but also as a reminder as to why rebuilding was so important💚
Help us reach our goal of FILLING the board before tomorrow. Send photos of you having a good time at French Broad to our DMs so that we can print them and pin them up! We appreciate every photo sent just as we appreciate all of you💚

This is the very first look at our new taproom, with commentary from Paul on each aspect of our work. We realized we haven’t shown many visuals on the taproom in our updates, so Paul wanted to do a walk through giving insights as to exactly what’s been going on in here these past 6 months. It’s a bit of a long video, but if you want a sneak peek at our new home and info on our reopening date, keep watching💚
Hope everyone’s week is off to a great start. We’re up at the taproom working on making some beer and finishing up projects trying to get us to that projected opening date. Many updates to come this week! Many friends of the brewery have been looking for updates - please share this with your local friends to help this message find them. By the way, cheers to National Beer Day🍻

A little message from Paul on Thursday’s cleanup day.
We can’t express enough how much the volunteer crew helped move along our process. Our landscaper, Jim, actually said it decreased the workload by DAYS! We’re incredibly grateful for our community and that feeling continues to grow and be reinforced each and every day. Thank you to everyone who came out💚
